Thousands of illegal migrants would then have right to UK asylum via ‘the Rock’

As news of a second mass invasion of illegal African migrants into the Spanish enclave of Ceuto is building, deep concerns are now being expressed at the potential impact on the very small but strategically-vital British territory of Gibraltar. This is now a direct route to the UK.

With Spain now in effective control of Gibraltar’s borders, it is feared the pro-immigration, anti-NATO, hard-left Spanish government will have neither the will nor the ability to prevent a flooding of ‘the Rock’. Indeed, we can reveal that any nationality can cross from Spain to Gibraltar with no border checks and then claim UK asylum.

Stand for Our Sovereignty (SOS), in collaboration with partners think-tank Facts4EU and The Campaign for an Independent Britain (CIBUK), have produced this summary of the threat to the already-embattled UK. In a report shared exclusively with GB News, we review the changed status of Gibraltar due to the giveaway by the Labour government of British sovereignty to the EU.

This has caused the potential risk of a mass immigration wave within weeks. In addition, the potential for a ‘double-whammy’ due to an imminent, second invasion of Ceuta is now looking possible.

The ‘Double-Whammy’ threat to UK territory

1. From Spain and it’s mass legalisation of illegal migrants

Border control of the Rock of Gibraltar, British territory for more than three centuries, was effectively ceded to the Spanish on 15 July 2026. This happened with the implementation of a deal made between then UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, the Spanish Government of Pedro Sanchez, and Gibraltar’s pro-EU, anti-Brexit, socialist Chief Minister Fabian Picardo.

It is the change in border control due to the Treaty which means people of any nationality can now cross from Spain into Gibraltar.

Spain’s government has shown itself to be riding roughshod over the EU’s teetering plans for a common borders and asylum policy. Last month we reported on the mass immigration into the EU caused by Senor Sanchez’s amnesty for over 1.2 million mostly African, illegal migrants present in Spain.

These illegal migrants, once given Spanish residency, represent a clear threat to the near-open Gibraltarian border, now that it is Spanish-controlled.

2. From the African continent via Spain’s Ceuta, threatened by another invasion within days

The British people and the whole world saw the catastrophic invasion of Spanish-owned Ceuta, which took place over a two-day period. Numbers in excess of 70,000 crossed the flimsy borders. Although the majority were rounded up by Spain’s police and military, thousands are thought still to be present.

With its population of 34,000 numbering around half that of Ceuta, an invasion would completely flood the tiny British territory and cause the complete shut-down of normal life on the Rock. Gibraltar’s residents, 99% of whom voted to stay British in the last referendum, would almost certainly find themselves staying indoors, fearing for their safety.

As reported by GB News this week, news has now emerged of a highly-organised, coordinated, online plan to flood the Spanish territory from Morocco once again. Indications are that this could occur as soon as next week.

With nearly 90 having perished while attempting the perilous crossing in the first invasion, the Spanish government has made the sea-wall route even more dangerous. The possibility of an even greater humanitarian crisis is very real.

British Gibraltar’s pull factor and the ultimate prize: the UK

Andy Burnham’s government and significant parts of the media seem reluctant to say much when the EU is having yet another crisis. In the case of the Ceuta mass invasion, however, this was world news and impossible to ignore.

With a second invasion now being planned, and no doubt with lessons learnt from the first event, the thousands of illegal migrants who manage to avoid the round-ups will grow. Making world headlines if it happens, it is even likely the US President will weigh in once again. [TRUMP PIC]

The double-whammy of another Ceuta invasion, together with the 1.2 million amnesty giveaway by the Spanish government, should give both the Gibraltarian Assembly and the UK government pause for thought. The imminent risks in turn lead to questions being asked about the ‘pull factor’ of the small British outpost, which lies at the gateway to the Mediterranean and in close proximity to the epicentre of the EU’s current illegal migrant problem.
